About Me

Upbringing: My name is Sier Bafaiz, and I’m twenty one years of age.  My family is originally from Afghanistan, and I’m Bilingual. I’m currently living and have been in Elk Grove, CA my whole life. I have an older sister who is twenty eight years of age. I would say my upbringing was pretty good, my family came to America being in debt but they worked very hard to put our family in a better position. My mother was a housekeeper and my dad worked at Target, and they saved everything they could. My dad had gone to school for heating & air conditioning with no knowledge of it. He worked his way to the top and did an amazing job being there for me and my sister. My dad would play soccer with other people later in the day at a park and I was able to see him play soccer growing up which really impacted me to  play sports and be more active and compete with others. My sister definitely helped out with my upbringing, especially when it came to school. I never really understood why I was always an average student and never really understood the importance of education until college. I wanted to leave college as fast as I could but then fell in love with helping others after volunteering at the hospital; and watching Greys Anatomy.

Obstacle: A lot of the obstacles that I had to face were with school. I was never good at it or had the desire to want more from it. I would do really bad at math and science classes. I would fail almost every exam and with homework and extra credit I would be able to pass my classes with B’s. It’s honestly something that I have difficulty with to this day. My first science class in college was probably the biggest obstacle that I had to face because I didn’t have study habits and I wasn’t sure what it took to be successful. I would have constant mental breakdowns, thoughts if I made the right decision. I would fall into depression mid semester and would be unmotivated and be scared because I wasn’t able to catch up with the material. School was my biggest obstacle, and to this day still is, regardless if I do good or bad, I have to put hours of work to barely get C at times.

Triumphs: I was able to get through my first ever science class on my first try which was Chemistry 305. I did not think that I would be able to make it through the course and with a lot of late nights and early mornings  I was able to pull it off. Another triumph would be passing my first biology class after I had got a W in the class. I’m now able to say I finished all my pre-nursing requisites which is surreal to me. Another triumph would be that I’m a graphic designer and with that I’ve worked with YouTubers over million subscribers. I feel accomplished in some aspects because I’m a self taught graphic designer who was able to work with people he looked up to.

Passions: I’m very passionate when it comes to marketing, I do a lot of graphic design work, photography, and video editing. I do work for a variety of You-Tubers and social media influencers. I also love to work on cars and play sports. I just recently got into cars, and I didn’t know what I was missing out on. Another thing I like to do is play sports such soccer and basketball on my freetime.
